 Mission Statement:

Texas Elite Aquatics Members (TEAM) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, established to develop the character traits, technical skills and intense desire necessary for maximum realization of each individual's potential.

Objectives:

Texas Elite Aquatics Members would like to welcome you to the exciting world of competitive swimming. We believe the most important part of your child’s swimming experience is that he/she learns about him/herself while enjoying the sport. Our purpose is to provide a healthy, safe environment that encourages learning, fitness and fun; hoping this will develop a positive self-image within each child. We stress the importance of developing individual self-discipline and good sportsmanship through group activity. We believe that competitive swimming allows all children to experience success, because everyone gets to compete and no one sits on the sideline. It also allows children to deal with defeat in a positive manner while becoming healthy and physically fit. Our goal is to develop a year round aquatics program that will challenge each individual. We want to instill responsibility, good work ethics and the importance of goal achievement, while having fun. We realize not every swimmer becomes a world-record holder or Olympic champion. However, it is our true belief that everybody gains from his or her swimming experience.

 Team Goals:

TEAM is founded on the belief that swimming offers an exciting and valuable experience in a person’s life. In a program that is well directed, participants can gain from their own experiences, whether or not he or she wins a single race. It is for this reason that the following objectives have been adopted:

To realize our maximum potential in competitive swimming.
To furnish a wholesome and worthwhile physical and recreational outlet.
To provide the opportunity to learn sportsmanship and make swimmers aware of team cooperation and pride.
To provide opportunities to learn good health habits.

To provide training and competition to all swimmers and all levels consistent with ability, desire and performance levels.

To provide the opportunity to gain self-esteem and worth by making a commitment to the sport.
To provide opportunities for physiological, psychological, and sociological development through competitive sport.
To learn a sport that can be enjoyed always.

TEAM Organization:

Texas Elite Aquatics Members (TEAM) is a year-round competitive swim program. We offer a guided age-group youth program for children age 4 and up, from the beginning swimmer to the most competitive and skilled swimmer. When a person becomes a member of TEAM he/she learns the values of sportsmanship and team work. Swimming, with TEAM, provides physical, social and psychological skills that will last a lifetime.

 TEAM Club Philosophy:

The TEAM philosophy can best be summarized by our team motto:

Arete  (a ruh Tay)  An Ancient Greek word describing the quest for individual excellence, through the embodiment of
courage, perseverance, loyalty, and physical skill in a group atmosphere.”

COURAGE is the attitude and willingness to accept risk(s) and endure failings. It involves the conviction of mind, purpose,
spirit. We encourage our athletes to embrace challenges and not fear the outcome.

PERSEVERANCE is the backbone of success in any endeavor in life. One cannot succeed at the highest levels without enduring some set-backs. Perseverance is the quality that transcends these difficult times. It allows the individual to find the true strength of their character.

LOYALTY is the quality, state, or instance of being loyal.  We demand this faithfulness or faithful adherence to the team, our goals, and our purpose.

PHYSICAL SKILL is the ability to learn and apply the fundamental and technical aspects of hydrodynamics as they apply towards more efficient and effective stroke mechanics.

GROUP ATMOSPHERE is defined by Texas Elite Aquatics Members through the acronym:

T.E.A.M. - TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE.
