Larry Hough
Larry grew up in Knoxville, TN where he met his wife Meredith.  They have 3 children (Matthew, Marie, & Macie).  He has been a professional swim coach since 1994 and is an ASCA Level 5 certified coach.  Some of his accomplishments include:  USA Swimming National Select Camp Staff in 2009, North Carolina Coach of the Year in 2004-05 & 2006-07, ASCA Schleuter Stroke Award in 1997, Georgia Swimming Zone Coach in 1997, USA Swimming Distance Camp Staff in 1996, Shoshannah Foundation Award, and Roy Acuff award.  He has also been involved  in many organizations and currently holds board positions.  He is now the Head Coach of the NEAT and serves the NEISD as the Assistant Aquatic Coordinator.  Larry also sang opera professionally from 1991-1994.  Larry coaches Senior 1.

B. J. Allenstein
Growing up, BJ swam in Houston for Dad’s Club.  As an athlete, he set several records that some still remain to this day:  11-12 boys 200 free, and 11-12 boys top 100 times for freestyle.  In high school he swam for Stratford until moving to San Antonio and swimming for Palo Alto College.  BJ has been coaching since 1997; all of it with AAAA.  During this time he has worked with all age levels and abilities and is an ASCA level II coach.  He has served as an All-Star and Zone coach multiple times.  In 2008 he was named “S.T.A.G. Coach of the year.”  BJ has lived in San Antonio for the past 16 years.  He is currently completing his degree at UTSA.  He recently got married and is looking forward to having his own little swimmers someday.  BJ coaches Blue and White.

Josh Bair
Josh started swimming for a club team in Severna Park, Maryland.  He continued swimming as a recreational sport in high school to complement playing tennis.  His enthusiasm for swimming grew when he began teaching lessons.  He has been a swim America instructor for 5 years and moved up to supervisory position.  He also has taught private/semi-private lesson for 4 years, and has been added on to the AAAA.   He enjoys biking, and tweaking computers.  He also enjoys spending time with family and friends.  His personal philosophy would be, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.  Never give up or quit when the work gets hard.   Get help and keep moving on.”  Josh coaches Pre-competitive and Gold.

Kyli Couffer
Kyli swam for Judson High School all four years and was a regional finalist in her sophomore to senior year.  Some of her accomplishments include the Diamond “J” award, High Point swimmer and she held seven school records and nineteen top five times.  She signed with University of Texas of the Permain Basin.  Her freshman year she broke the school record in 100 back and reached top 10 in the 100 free for UTPB.  She began coaching in 2009 with the Swim America program and has taken the jump to AAAA.  In her spare time she likes to swim, read, or listen to music.  Kyli coaches Pre-competitive, Age Group-2 and Gold

Bob Duin
Bob has been coaching since 1974 where he has coached six summer league teams as head coach, five USA swimming teams (head coach for North Houston Dolphins, and King Blue Tide), and three high school teams (head coach for Humble,  Kingwood and Madison High School).  He is an ASCA level 4 certified coach.  He has produced UIL state championship swimmers, All-Americans, and won championships.  He has been District and Regional Coach of the Year several times.  He enjoys fishing and cooking, but his favorite past time is reading.  He ended with this to say, “Upon the millions of grains of sand on the beaches of the world lie the bleached white bones of those who hesitated and were lost.” -author unknown.  Bob coaches White and Gold.

Steve Ferencak
Steve swam for Palo Alto College for two years.  During that time he earned school records in the 200 and 400 Free Relay.  He was an honorable mention All-American breaststroker both years.  He has been coaching since 1999.  In 2002-2003 he received District Coach of the year for Somerset high school.  In 2003-2004 he received Regional Coach of the year for Stacey high school.  He is a ASCA certified level II coach.  He believes in working hard for each individual swimmer and educating them to do their best.  When he has time he leads by example by training and participating in USA triathlons.  But he says nothing compares to the time he spends with his little girl.  Steve coaches Age Group-3 and assists with Age Group-2

Maren Fruia
Maren swam competitively for 11 years with USA swimming.  She was a state qualifier for 3 years at Brownsville high school.  Then she took a scholarship to swim for M.S.U. in Moorhead where she was a conference finalist in 200 fly, 400IM, and 100 fly.  She started teaching lessons with a learn to swim program for 4 years.  Then she coached for the Moorhead Swim Team in Minnesota for 2 years.  Now she has taken on coaching with Alamo Area.  In her spare time when she is not attending class at UTSA, she likes to read, and work on computer graphic designs.  She enjoys basically any and ALL WATER SPORTS!  Meren coaches Age Groups-1 and -2 and Juniors.

Sarah Jacobson
Sarah was introduced to swimming when six years old with summer league team.  She began year-round swimming at age eight and swam with Lone Star Aquatics, Longhorn Aquatics and Circle C Aquatics until college.  She competed in UIL swimming for Round Rock High School, and was recruited by Division I UNM swimming.  She began volunteering as an assistant coach at age 12 with the Round Rock Dolphins.  She has been a coach for Rogers Ranch Summer League for four seasons.  This 2009 short course season will be her second year with AAAA.  She said, “It is truly rewarding to see each swimmer grow as an athlete and individual.”  Sarah is attending UTSA to finish a communication degree in December.  In her spare time she likes doing outdoor activities ( horseback riding, rock climbing, camping).  Also, reading and watching funny movies.  Sarah coaches Pre-competitive and Junior.

Caroline Kabbe
Caroline began swimming in 1994 at her hometown YMCA in California.  She moved to Texas in 1998 where she joined a summer league.  She was a part of the AAAA and the Wave program.  She swam for Boerne High School for two years where she broke seven records and was a regional champion in the 100 breaststroke.  She later swam for Incarnate Word High School where she qualified for state in 200 I-M, 100 Breaststroke, and two relays.  In 2008, she started coaching for Fair Oaks summer league team and lessons.  In 2009, she became apart of the Swim America program and NEAT.  She is attending University of Incarnate Word and is studying Athletic Training.  In her spare time, Caroline enjoys reading and swimming. Caroline coaches Pre-competitive and White.

Kyrenda King
Kyrenda was born here in San Antonio and went to the International School of the Americas for high school.  She recently graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a minor in Vocal Performance and major in Business Management with a focus on Organizational Development.  Kyrenda swam competitively for ten years, has been teaching lessons for eight, and has ran numerous stroke clinics for children and adults.  Most recently, she started the Cibolo Canyons Summer Swim Team where they ended their first year sending four first time swimmers to All Stars.  Kyrenda coaches Pre-competitive and Juniors.

Trevor Loomis:
Trevor swam for Ronald Reagan high school from 2003 to 2005.  During that time he achieved All-District, All-Regional, and All-American.  He also accomplished sectional status in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.  He started working at Blossom in 2005 teaching with the Swim America program and lifeguarding.  In 2008 he had worked his way up to head lifeguard and coaching year round.  He enjoys working at the pool is his past time and attending UTSA.  One thing that Trevor believes is “All that matters is what you know, and what you feel.

Travis Nolder
Travis began coaching Summer League at the age of 16 and continues to coach with a summer league team in the area.  Then he branched out to club coaching where he has been coaching for Alamo Area for the past seven years.  Travis began his love for swimming at an early age when he joined summer league at age six.  In high school he swam for MacArthur and he swam for Alamo Area.   He spends his spare time at the lake where he enjoys wake boarding.  When all else fails to find him, try Swim Freak shop where he spends a lot of his time.  Travis coaches Senior 2 and 3.

Patrick Sautural
Patrick, originally from Brownsville, moved to Canton, Michigan in middle school; where he began his swimming career.  He swam the 100 fly, 200 fly and all the relays for the Plymouth-Salem High School team.  He became a coach with the Cypress Fleet swim club in Houston.  He has been a coach for summer league and coaching for Alamo Area for two years.   Patrick enjoys hanging out with friends and family and watching football.  He does travel as much as possible to different destinations.  He also likes to stay in shape where he still gets in the pool and swims a workout.  He is currently finishing up an Exercise Science degree at UTSA.  Patrick coaches Age Gold and assists with the Senior-3.

Tracey Spurgeon
Tracey began swimming at the age of 2.  She swam competitively for the City of Midland Swim Team for 11 years before moving to San Antonio and swimming for Clark high school and AAAA Northside.  She started coaching summer league teams in 1987, and in 1991 began coaching with AAAA/NEAT starting with the developmental program and working her way up to assisting with the National level swimmers. In 2000-2002 she coached the Frisco Summer Swim Team, then returned to AAAA/NEAT in 2003 where she currently works with the 11 & 12 year old Groups.  In 2009 she was awarded "South Texas Coach of the Year" by ASCA.  Her satisfaction in coaching comes from the success of each individual swimmer she coaches.  Tracey enjoys spending time outdoors, vacationing wherever there is snow or a beach, all water sports, and most of all spending quality time with her two boys-- Brody and Kavan.  Tracey coaches age Groups 1 and 2.
